ELWA Man and Buchanan Schools are Cellcom’s Big Winners This Week
Saturday was an enormous day of celebration for Jeremiah Cooper, two Buchanan schools and a massive crowd of people at Cellcom’s “Be A Millionaire” raffle held in Buchanan. For Jeremiah Cooper from ELWA in Monrovia, he is now 10,000USD richer, thanks to talking for $2.00 this week on Cellcom’s network and earning a ticket in the raffle that already boasts eight other fortunate $10,000 winners.
For two Buchanan schools, Saturday was also a blessed day as Cellcom donated five computers to Bassa High School and 100 arm chairs to the elementary school children at Bassa Demonstration School. In addition to the computers, Cellcom also will be providing Bassa High School with internet service and training classes. And for the hundreds of spectators who turned out for the “Be A Millionaire” celebration at the Administrative Building opposite the Cellcom Store in Buchanan, they were treated to the musical performances of K-Zee and T-Crack, as well as fantastic dance performances by the Bassa cultural dancers. In the audience to enjoy the $10,000 give-away; the donations of computers, internet and chairs for schools; and the music and dance performances were honored guests such as Grand Bassa County’s Superintendent and its Chief of Police.
“Although the raffle is broadcast each week on Sky Radio, being in the crowd as the winner is called is an unforgettable experience,” commented Avishai Marziano, Cellcom’s CEO. “This week, in particular, was especially exciting for Cellcom because we had the chance to also show our support for education in Liberia. It was an incredibly rewarding experience to watch all of the youth in Buchanan who turned out for the “Be A Millionaire” celebration when they learned that they and their schools were also winners today.”
Jeremiah Cooper will appear at Cellcom Headquarters on Monday morning to receive his check for $10,000 U.S. and be escorted to the bank to open an account and deposit it safely. Past Cellcom winners who have made the same journey include Robert Baryogar of MacDonough Street, Monrovia; Matenken Boyo of Matadi; Bill Sheriff of Red Light; Williams Blamo of Congo Town; Cordelia Gibson of Thinker’s Village; Fatumata Konneh of St. Francis Junction, Gardnersville; Tupee Tequah of LAC Buchanan; and Samuel Bowin of Congo Town.
